Christmas-Part 2

We had a wonderful Christmas this year surrounded by family and friends! We really enjoyed having mom and dad here with us for about a week! Like always the time flew by and before we knew it they had to go home. It was nice not having to travel for the holidays but we missed seeing all of our family in Valdosta! We didn't do a whole lot while mom and dad were here; we just hung out, baked cookies, did a little shopping and they played with Kinsey and spoiled her rotten! I guess that's what grandparents are for though!

Nana and Kinsey got lots of rocking time!

Watching cartoons with Pete

Enjoying the swing on a cold day...Santa was very good to us this year at our house, as he is every year! We had a great time and really enjoyed watching Kinsey open all of her new toys! Christmas morning we woke up around 7 went to see what Santa had left. I don't think Kinsey knew what to think when she saw her toys sitting in the living room floor!

Checking things out...not too sure what to think!

It was too cold to get outside and try out Kinsey's new tricycle so Daddy had to push her up and down the hallway!

Getting into her stocking!

Talking on the phone...

All of the excitement of the morning was just too much I guess! Pete and Kinsey had to get in a nap! Christmas afternoon we spent in Paris with the Blounts! They fed us really well, like always, and we all enjoyed visiting and catching up!

Since we weren't able to catch up with Mac and Mama Mac on Christmas Day we had Christmas with them this weekend! And not to mention deer season is still open so it worked out where Ryan could do a little hunting too! (I think that was the plan all along!!)

For a whole month I've been telling Kinsey Santa says "HO HO HO" and then would ask her to see if she would repeat it but never would until just a few days ago! Go figure... I should have known that she would say it until after Christmas! I told myself that I was going to take a family picture this year of everyone and of course I didn't! In fact the only one I got was the yucky one of us in our pj's! Not one of us with Pete and Nana or Gram, Grandpop and Callie! Maybe next time I'll get my act together! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a blessed 2010!

Christmas - Part 1

We had a wonderful Christmas and are truly blessed beyond measure! The Monday before Christmas we traveled to Paris to have Christmas with the Blounts. We had breakfast for supper, which I love, and then enjoyed opening gifts! Margaret came over so it was nice to be able to spend time with her! Kinsey did great but didn't quite get into opening her gifts too much. Ryan had to work Tuesday so we came back home and left Kinsey there to have some Gram, Grandpop and Aunt Callie time! She didn't even miss us at all and I got to get some things done before mom and dad got here! They were able to stay for a week which was so nice...that will have to be a whole other post! Hope you enjoy the pics!

Gram and Grandpop gave Kinsey this hound dog that sings and dances. It's ears flap up and down and when Kinsey first saw it she grabbed her ear and started wiggling it....sooo funny!

Marget gave all of us a quilt she had made...this is Kinsey's! Isn't it beautiful!!

Radio City Rockettes!

Saturday Patsy, Callie, Kinsey and I had a girls day out and went to see the Rockettes as part of our Christmas from Steve and Patsy. We had a wonderful time and the show was amazing! Kinsey really liked it was was so good during the almost 2 hour show. She sat still and watched almost the entire show...until the end she was a little restless but finally fell asleep!

Callie, Kinsey and Gram...waiting for the show to start!

Steve brought Patsy over on Friday afternoon so we got to spend a little time with him too. Kinsey wasn't too sure about his mustache...

We have a busy week planned and are excited about Santa coming on Friday!! Monday night we'll have our Christmas with the Blounts, Tuesday I've got lots of baking I want to do and then Wednesday Mom and Dad will be here! I'm so excited to see them and I know they are ready to see Kinsey! Hope you all have a safe and Merry Christmas!

All About Kinsey

It's been a while since I've posted all of the new things Kinsey is doing these days so I figured I'd better post them before I forget!! She is 14 months today and as sweet as ever! Her little personality is really starting to shine through! She's so much fun and full of life but can be a little stinker sometimes too! Oh where do I start....

- She is a great eater and will eat anything you give her!

- She knows a few signs: more, please and milk are the ones she does the best. Occasionally she will do water and diaper.

- When she's eating and wants more she'll either yell or use her signs. (We promote signing not yelling.) If she just signs more I ask her if she can 'say,' "more, please" and she'll sign it! (Smart, I know!)

- Last night at church I went to pick her up from class and her teacher said Kinsey started doing the sign for more about half way through Bible class and then starting rubbing her hand over her chest (the sign for please.) Of course they weren't sure what she was trying to tell them but finally Mrs. Michelle asked Kinsey if she wanted a snack and to which Kinsey nodded her little head "yes!" Her teachers thought it was cute and I told them it was a shame we don't feed her!!

- She loves her Daddy and gets so excited when he comes home from work. I usually try to watch for him so I can tell her when he pulls into the driveway. As soon as I mention that I think Daddy is home she takes off toward the front door and then starts to squeal when she finally sees him. It's so cute!

- Ryan and Kinsey chase each other around every night and she just eats it up! He tells her he's going to get her and she'll take off as fast as she can crawl and will just giggle when he catches her! I love watching them together : )

- She can say several words and understands alot of what we say.

- She's started nodding her head "yes" and "no" and can tell us what she wants and doesn't want which is nice to be able to communicate but occasionally she'll jabber away trying to tell us something and then just look at us like "Why can't you understand what I'm saying?"

- She loves her Lammie Pie and passy! They are a must for nap time and bed time.

- She still isn't walking but can crawl faster than anything I've ever seen! As long as she has something to hold on to she will walk all over but she's not yet gained enough confidence to go at it alone.

- She knows some of her body parts and can point to them: head, hair, ears, eyes, nose, mouth, belly, fingers and toes!

Sorry no pictures...I haven't taken any this week. Saturday we are going to see the Rockettes so I should have some pictures to post then!

Pancakes with Santa!

This morning we had pancakes with Santa at church! Kinsey had a great time and really enjoyed the pancakes but wasn't quite too sure and that guy named Santa!! I asked her if she wanted to go sit on Santa's lap and she nodded her little head yes and we watched the other kids go sit on his lap and then it was our turn....well you'll just have to scroll down and check out the picture! It's too funny! Maybe she'll like him next year....

Thanksgiving 2009

I realize this post is a little late but better late than never right!? We had a great Thanksgiving in Valdosta with my family. Everyone got to come home for the holidays so that made it all the better especially since we won't be traveling for Christmas and get to see everyone then! We spent most of our time just hanging out, visiting and eating lots of yummy food! Dad and Ryan hit the fishing pond a few times and were so successful we had a delicious fish fry Friday night. Kinsey enjoyed playing with Kayden and Brecken and getting tons of attention from everyone else! As always, our time at home was just too short! Below are just a few of the many pictures I took during the holiday...thanks to Terri for the first 2 pics!

Cousins...Terri, Aaron, Melissa, Ashley, and me

I think just about everyone read to Kinsey at one point or another. Kinsey loves to read her books so she ate it up!

Since we won't be seeing Aaron and Gena or Ashley and Rachel for Christmas we went ahead and had Christmas with them while we were home. We had all gone in together to get Dad some new boat seats for his boat so we decided to give them to him.
