5 Years = Minivan Mom

May 27th Ryan and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary! It's really hard to believe that it has already been 5 years and if the next 5 go as fast as these have #10 will be here before we know it! God has blessed us and our marriage more than than we could have ever imagined and I'm so thankful to have such a wonderful Christian man and to call my husband! Ryan is such a hard worker and does an amazing job providing for our family! I feel so blessed to be able to have him as my best friend and partner to walk through this life with! These are a few of my favorite pics from our special day!

Seeing each other for the 1st time : )

Our wedding party

Mr. and Mrs. Blount

We've been saving up to buy a minivan before November when baby #2 comes and had planned on getting one closer to the end of summer but instead Ryan bought me one for our anniversary! When we got married, Dad and mom gave us the '99 GMC Jimmy they bought for me when I was a junior at Harding. We've had lots of wonderful memories in that car and it's really been very good to us! Ryan and I decided that we would drive it until the wheels fell off (not having a car payment was nice!) Well the wheels are still attached but at 206,000+ miles it was time to trade it in when the air conditioner went out and it started blowing smoke out of the air vents!! It started this last weekend so after tossing around whether or not to try to fix the air or just trade it in we finally decided it was time to say goodbye and buy a van.

Goodbye Jimmy!

Now I was one of those when I was in high school and college who said I would NEVER drive a minivan but that was before I had kids and well things change! Even though it does make me feel a little old : ( I really do love our "new to us" Honda Odyessy and know I will love all of the room it provides! So I guess it's official I'm a proud "minivan mom!" Woo, hoo!!

Kinsey's BIG Girl Bed!

The last few weeks I've been slowly turning our guest bedroom into Kinsey's BIG girl room! I found a really cute pink and brown quilt from Target and knew it would look great with the chocolate brown walls that I didn't want to repaint! I wanted Kinsey to feel comfortable in her "new" room so she could start taking naps and get used to sleeping in a big bed before moving her in there at night (which needs to happen before baby #2 comes!). After putting the quilt on the bed, some pink curtains up, and moving some of her books to the nightstand she has taken full ownership of her new room! She loves going in there, crawling up on the bed and just hanging out! Usually if I can't find her that's where she's at! After getting a bed rail last week, I thought we'd try to start taking naps on the big bed today...I really expected her to get up or for me to have to lie down with her until she fell asleep but she proved me wrong! She laid down and talked to herself for just a few minutes but when I went to check on her a little later she was fast asleep and has been now for 2 hours! Woo, hoo!

Such a little girl in such a big bed!

There's still several more things I want to do before Kinsey's big girl room will be finished but we've still got plenty of time and I know how I want it to look it's just a matter of getting things done! Ryan's honey-do list is growing by the minute! : )
In baby news: I'm officially 13 weeks! YAY! Last Tuesday I went for my 12 week checkup that lasted all of 5 minutes. My dr. found the heartbeat, asked if I had any questions-which I didn't, and said, "okay you're good to go. See you in 4 weeks!" Gotta love paying probably over $100 for a 5 minute checkup! Oh well, I'm just so thankful that things are going well this pregnancy because that is truly priceless! We are anxious to find out the sex of the baby, of course, but that will be another 7 weeks at our 20 week checkup. I really think it's a girl and that's what the Chinese calendar is saying and the heart rate is high like Kinsey's was but Ryan strongly thinks it's a boy and he was right with Kinsey (I thought Kinsey was a boy) so I guess we'll see! We would both love to have a little boy before our family is complete but I would love for Kinsey to have a sister too so I will be absolutely thrilled either way and really in the end I know it doesn't matter, all we really want is a healthy baby!
Happy Monday! Hope you all have a great week!

Music to My Ears!

Last night we found Baby's heart beat with our handy-dandy doppler for the first time! We've been trying for a few weeks now to find it but knew that it was still kind of early so every few days we would try again. Last night Ryan said he thought we would hear it and he was right...we were so excited! We got to listen to it for over a minute before baby decided to move around and we lost it but it was wonderful to hear it just ticking away!

I just love my sweet husband for finding the neatest gadgets! He bought our doppler when we found out I was expecting Kinsey and it was so nice to be able to listen to her heart beat whenever we wanted to...not just at the dr.'s office! I know we will enjoy it just as much with this baby!

I couldn't not post these pics of Kinsey! They are just too funny!
Crazy hair!

Kinsey's "new face" ...don't know where she picked it up from but she loves to curl up that nose! So silly!

Mother's Day 2010

I had a wonderful Mother's Day and even though I didn't get to spend it with my amazing mother (missed you mom!) I did get to spend it with another really special mother in my life--my mother-in-law Patsy! I am so blessed to have 2 wonderful, Christian women and moms to look up to and to go to for advice. Thank you both for all you do for me and my family and all of the many sacrifices you've made over the years. We love you and wouldn't be who we are without the 2 of you!

Baby #2 at 11 weeks

We got to spend the weekend in Paris with the Blounts and had a fabulous time seeing everyone! Kinsey, of course, loved all of the attention!

BUBBLE BATH!

Saturday afternoon we stopped by Mac & Mama Mac's to visit. Just as we got there, Mama Mac was getting ready to roll up her hair for church so Patsy helped her and Kinsey thought she needed her hair rolled too! She just pranced around the house like she was something else with those rollers in her hair! What a funny little girl!!

Am I not beautiful??

Reading a story while the curlers set! : )

Saturday before we left for Paris, Ryan and Kinsey made a trip to Walmart while I got things packed. I heard them come in the door and came out into the hallway to meet them and found Kinsey carrying/dragging a Walmart bag that looked pretty heavy for her. When I asked her what she had she opened the bag and it was the prettiest rose bush for me from the two of them! I asked her if she picked it out for me and she just grinned ear to ear...it was so sweet! Now if I can just keep the roses alive!
Hope your Mother's Day was just as special as mine!

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday we had a fun, relaxing day with Ryan. Thankfully he was able to make it home Monday night but about 2 hours after he was home they closed road so he wasn't able to make it to work yesterday. So we took advantage of the situation and thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend the day with him! He worked in the garage yesterday afternoon so we played outside. While watering the flowers Kinsey decided to run right into the water so she ended up getting soaking wet but had a blast playing in the water! Hope you enjoy the pics!

Water, Water Everywhere!

Well the sun is out today...thank goodness because middle TN couldn't hold another drop of water! It started raining here in Clarksville about 4 am Saturday morning and didn't stop until sometime yesterday afternoon. It just kept coming...at times it would let up but then the next wave of thunderstorms would come through and bring several more inches of rain! I have never in my life seen so much water! Nashville definitely has the worst flooding but we've still had our share here in Clarksville! Please pray for all of the families effected by the floods because there are many homes and businesses that have been flooded and several people have actually died. I know at one point all of the major interstates were closed in the Nashville area. There was a video on the news that showed at least 20 vehicles including semi-trucks on I-24 that had been abandoned due to flood waters...all you could see were the roofs of the vehicles! It was unbelievable! They also reported that the Opryland hotel was evacuated last night and by this morning it had 6 feet of water on the bottom level...just absolute craziness! Ryan had to make a few detours to make it out to the plant this morning due to road closures but I just talked to him and he heard they've just closed the main road he takes home...YIKES! Please keep him in your prayers too because the news just said we've not seen the worse of flooding yet here in Clarksville. Although it's not raining anymore the water is still rising and is expected to crest this afternoon so hopefully he'll be able to find a way home and make it here safely!

Someone had emailed Ryan these pics this morning....they are of Riverside Rd here in Clarksville and to think it's still rising....SCARY!
