34 week Belly & Nursery Pics!

Belly Pictures at 34 Weeks! We're running out of room....
Side shot

From the front...my belly button is officially flat!

Hope you enjoy the pictures...it's still a work in progress! I've still got to get some things up on the walls but a lot of that hinges on what we name our little gal and well she's still "baby girl" so I might not get that done until after she's here!

We are really pleased with the way the nursery looks so far. Ryan and his dad, Steve, put a lot of hard work into getting the white wainscoting up around the bottom and we couldn't be happier with the deal we got on our used furniture....it's like brand new!

Her little closet is already full of clothes!

She'll be all set to cheer on the Vols with her Daddy!

34 Weeks and Shingles....

Yesterday afternoon I had my 34 week Dr. appointment and baby girl is doing well and getting big but I had some unexpected news. On Monday I noticed that I had some red bumps under my right arm that looked almost like hives or some kind of rash. I also had what looked like a ring of them in between my shoulder blades on my back which I thought might be ring worm...boy was I wrong! As the week has progressed the ones under my arm started to blister and scab...yeah I know gross huh?! Ryan & I both thought that I had gotten poison ivy from him on Saturday; he was in the woods putting up deer stands with his dad. I knew I had my appointment yesterday afternoon so I just thought if it wasn't any better I could ask my Dr. to see what she recommended especially since I didn't know what was safe to put on it. I showed it to her and told her what Ryan and I suspected. She asked if it was painful at all and I told her that it had been hurting some. She said she thought it looked like shingles which really caught me off guard. Thankfully there is a dermatologist office right next to hers so she called him to see if he might be able to fit me in. About 15 minutes later he showed up at her office to look at my funky rash which was super nice of him. He thought it was shingles too and told me the only way to know for sure is to do a scrape test and send it to the lab, so off to his office I went to get tested. After filling out paper work I was expecting to have to wait a while but they got me right in and were really nice. A nurse called this morning to let me know that the test came back positive for shingles. So for the next week I will faithfully take my Valtrex (shingles is a form of the herpes virus) and hope and pray that it clears up. Thankfully it will have no effect on the baby which was my main concern. I just hope that it doesn't get worse...right now it doesn't feel great but the pain is tolerable. If you would please keep me in your prayers I would really appreciate it! I'll keep you updated and I'm still planning on getting some pictures up this weekend so stay tuned....

Fun Weekend

Our 3 day weekend has flown by but we've enjoyed every second of it! Ryan had a training in Chattanooga all last week and got back in on Friday afternoon. It was so good to see him and have him back home. Saturday we spent the day over in Paris visiting Ryan's grandparents. It's always good to see them and spend some time with them. Of course they're getting excited to meet this little girl of ours too! Sunday the church where we attend hosted a baby shower for us. Patsy and Callie were able to come in for the weekend for it and Margaret (Ryan's grandmother) felt up to making the trip so she got to be there too! The shower was so nice and we received lots of very nice things for our little girl. My mom and dad surprised me and sent a gift for me to open since they couldn't make it....my dad picked out a matching bracelet, necklace and earring pearl set that is just precious. I know it will look beautiful on her! Today Steve and Patsy took us out to eat for lunch before they left town and when we got back Ryan and I both crashed! We took a nice long much needed 2 hour nap. It was wonderful....I just wish I could take one everyday! Tonight we had some friends over for the UT game. It's a good thing we took that nap since the Vols just went into over time! Go VOLS! Hopefully they'll pull it out!

Here are some pictures from the shower:

Katie got me the cutest diaper bag and a gift certificate to get it embroidered when ever we come up with a name.....no we still don't have one!
Hope you all have a great week! I'm going to try to get some belly and nursery pics up soon so be on the look out!

3-D Ultrasound

Today I had my 32 weeks Dr. visit...all went well and everything is right on track. After the Dr. appointment we had an appointment to get a 3-D ultrasound done to see what our little girl looks like. I was a little worried that she might not cooperate but she did great! Although most of the time she kept her hands in front of her face we were still able to get a few peeks. She definitely loves to suck her thumb already....we caught her several times with her thumb in her mouth just sucking away! It was too cute! Looks like she's going to be a chunk....she's weighing about 5 pounds give or take a few ounces and you can see she's got some chunky cheeks going on. I just can't wait to kiss those fat cheeks! Hope you enjoy the pics! Have a great weekend!

She's thinking really hard on this one with her hand on her forehead : )

Blessed

Ryan and I are truly blessed to have so many friends and family that love us and care for us. I was humbled and absolutely amazed at everyone's generosity who came to the baby shower on Sunday that was given for us. We received more gifts than any one little girl could ever need! I will say that she'll definitely be the BEST dressed gal in TN, that's for sure! Melissa, Aunt Cathy, Aunt Connie, Aunt Bonnie and Granny Guthrie all hosted it for us and they did a fabulous job! Thanks for everything...you all are the BEST!
Me and mom
Melissa made the cutest diaper cake!

The cake was patterned after my nursery bedding.
It turned out so good and was delicious!

Ryan came to pick up all of the gifts so we could get on the road.
Isn't he too cute! : )

I think we finally got home around 11:00 pm Sunday night. We were both so tired and just ready to be home. Ryan drove the whole way which I really appreciated! What can I say...he's the best!

This is what the nursery looked like after unloading all of the gifts from the truck. There was hardly any room to walk around! I had fun sorting through all of the goodies and getting things organized...now all we need is a little girl! I know she'll be here before we know it! Only 9 weeks to go!

Weekend in Valdosta

Last Thursday afternoon I had my 30 week Dr. appointment. It went well and everything seems to be right on track. We're going back every 2 weeks now so we'll go back again next Friday. I can't believe we've just got a few more weeks left! After we finished up at the dr's office we got on the road and headed to Valdosta for the weekend. Friday morning Ryan was itching to get to the pond so he fished for most of the morning while me and Melissa shopped some. Friday night I went to Lindsay and Willis' wedding which was absoluetly beautiful! It was good to see lots of people I that haven't seen in a long time and get to catch up. Ryan decided to hang out with John instead of going to the wedding, who knows what they got in to!

Saturday I spent the day with mom and we did some more shopping and looked for some baby things. I always enjoy getting to spend time with her especially since we live so far apart! We got together with family and friends at a cookout Saturday afternoon in honor of Janey. I can't believe it's already been a year since she was with us. What a special little girl that touched so many lives in her short time. We love you Janey and can't wait to see you again someday!! Uncle Jim and John made a slip and slide for the kiddos which they absolutely loved! Shephard and Kayden couldn't get enough of it!

Below are some pictures of our fun times!!
Kayden and Shephard waiting to go!

This picture was too funny not to post....Ryan keeping the tarp wet. I believe he's holding the water hose...at least I hope so!

Weekend with the Girls!

Friday I worked half a day and then hit the road for a weekend with the girls in Searcy. One of my roommates from Harding is getting married so we had a lingerie shower for her and I figured it would be the last time I would be able to see them before our baby girl comes. It was so good to see them all and get to catch up. They are so much fun and most of the time we just sit around and laugh. God has truly blessed my life with them and I could not thank Him enough for the friendships that we share. They all surprised me and had a laundry basket full of baby things which was much appreciated! I couldn't even begin to list everything because there was so many goodies! Thanks guys! You're the best!

Not only did I get to see great friends but some of my favorite family too! Ashley treated me and Terri to Chili's on Friday night...what a sweet brother! And Terri was gracious to let me stay with her all weekend and as usual I enjoyed the visit.

While I was off for the weekend Ryan stayed here and worked on the nursery. My in-laws Steve and Patsy picked up our baby furniture Friday afternoon and delivered it to the house. They stayed Friday night and Steve helped Ryan on Saturday put the white wainscoting and trim around the bottom of the nursery then they put the furniture together and got the room all set up. Needless to say I was surprised when I got home last night to find a nursery!! Now all we need is a little girl!! I've still got some decorating to do but when I get it done then I'll put some pictures up.
