Kinsey's 9 month pics!

I finally got around to taking Kinsey to get her 9 month pictures taken. They turned out sooo good! I was looking back at her 3 and 6 month pictures and it is amazing to see how much she's changed! She is as sweet as ever and I just love her to pieces. She's finally starting to get the hang of crawling and is pulling up! She loves showing her little Christian light and playing peek-a-boo. Hopefully I'll be able to get a video of some of her new tricks to put up later this week!

Visiting the Great-Grands...

I know I've said this before but Kinsey is so blessed to have most of her great-grandparents still here with us. We always love getting to see them but don't get to often enough because of the miles between us. In the past few weeks we've had the privilege of seeing all of them so Kinsey has been able to show off her latest tricks....they all seemed to get a kick out of her waving! She could keep them entertained for hours!


Papa stopped by and spent the night on his way out to Montana. It was so good to see him!

We enjoyed spending a few days with Granny at the beach : )



Granny Horne & Hobe stopped in yesterday for a short visit while on their way to Wisconsin.

This past weekend we went to Paris to visit with Ryan's family. It's been a while since we'd seen them so it was past time for a visit. I'm amazed at how she just lights up their faces when they see her! Here she is with Marget and Mama Mac. I thought I took a picture of her and Mac but must not have : ( We'll have to get one next time!

9 months!

Kinsey turned 9 months old last Friday while we were at the beach! It's so hard to believe that we are already approaching the 1 year mark! She is so much fun and just melts our hearts with her sweet little smile and contagious giggle : ) We went for her checkup yesterday morning and she is 28.5 inches long and weighs 19 lbs 12 oz.

Gotta love that smile : ) When she really gets to giggling she usually ends up with the hiccups and it cracks me up!

Kinsey had been exclusively breastfeeding but about 2 weeks ago she stopped cold turkey. She nursed fine one afternoon and that night didn't want anything to do with me! I had planned on trying to BF her until she was a year but evidently she had different plans! At the time I wasn't ready for it...I thought I would get to call the shots as far as when we transitioned to a sippy cup but I've learned that's not always the case! Her Dr. said I could start her on whole milk so she takes breast milk and whole milk mixed together in a sippy cup and is doing really well. She's such a big girl! : (

Kinsey is such a good little eater...she will eat anything we give to her except peas. We're still working on those! She loves feeding herself and making messes : ) Sometimes the food doesn't quite make it to her mouth!

She's still not crawling...she will get on all fours and rock back and forth but hasn't quite got the forward motion down. She's perfectly content to sit on the floor and play with the toys within her reach. If there's something she can't get to and she really wants it, she'll roll until she can reach it : ) I guess whatever works, right!?

She loves to read her books! We have a stack of books sitting next to our recliner in the living room and if she's sitting in our lap she always looks over the side to the floor where the books are letting us know it's story time!

She loves Baby Einstein, Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Club....hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog! On Sunday mornings I'll get Kinsey ready and sit her on our bed to watch MMC while Ryan and I get dressed so all the way to church I've got that silly hot dog song in my head!!

She recently started waving...she'll wave to anyone and anything! The other night I was feeding her supper and she just started waving to us! It was so precious!! Waving at mama...

She's got her bottom 2 teeth now...the 2nd one is still coming through. You can see them a little in the pic below.

Yes, Kinsey is sweet but she's not afraid to let us know when she's not happy! Granny wasn't pinching her...she was just throwing a fit! This picture is for you Lindsey : )

We love our Kinsey and are so thankful that God has given us such a happy, healthy little girl.

Beach Bums

We spent the majority of last week in Orange Beach having lots of fun with family and friends! We had a great time...it just went by too fast! We shared a condo with Nana, Pete & Granny and the Lees & Hicks shared one. Ashley and Rachel were there too and stayed with some friends from Valdosta. We spent most of our time hanging out at the beach but made time for the zoo and a little shopping too! Kinsey loved the beach...she liked the water but eating the sand was probably her favorite thing to do...yum, yum! Terri took some fabulous family pics! Our NEW Kitchen Floors

Last Friday Ryan and I started to lay hardwood floors in our kitchen. We had been tossing around the idea of putting something new down but just hadn't gotten around to it. We thought the 4th of July long weekend would be a good time to get it done. Saturday we worked all day and finished up late that night nailing the boards. Gram and Grandpop came over to help out...Gram entertained Kinsey while we worked. We got the baseboards back up this week thanks to some help from one of Ryan's college friends, Chad, who stopped in on Tuesday night--Thanks Chad! We have really been enjoying them and are amazed at how different it makes the kitchen look!

I couldn't post something without including a picture of our little stinker....Kinsey has really grown and changed a lot this past month. She'll be 9 months next Friday and there's so many new things she's doing but that will have to be a different post.

Kinsey's New High Chair

When Ryan and I found out we were expecting a baby, Grandpop said he wanted to make a high chair for us. He is excellent at woodworking so we knew it would be absolutely beautiful...and it is! He's been working very hard on it the past few months and we finally got to see it on Friday...he wouldn't let us see it while he was working on it! We spent the night in Paris on Friday night and when we got there he had the chair all covered up. We tried to get Kinsey to "unwrap" it but she wasn't too sure about what was going on so Ryan had to help her but she made herself right at home when we put her in it!
