Maternity/ Family Photo shoot

We had a little family/maternity photo shoot before Knox came. Khloe was not very cooperative that day
somehow Mandy managed to still get some good shots!  These are just a few of my favorites!

This is exactly how Khloe acted the whole time...little stinker!!

Getting ready for Knox...

Today I'm 38 weeks & 3 days pregnant and I'm officially ready to meet my little man!  Gram and Pop were kind enough to keep the girls for a few days so I spent the day finishing up several things I wanted to get done before Knox comes; I cleaned house yesterday, got the laundry caught up, had a nice relaxing pedicure today & finished packing for the hospital.  Now we just wait...and since I'm all ready it will probably be another week before he comes!

Last Thursday, some very sweet friends from church hosted a baby shower for me.  All I can say is that I'm extremely blessed to be a part of such a wonderful church family!

                                                           All of the hostesses!
Family!

Me and mom...I was so glad she got to be here!
Knox got lots of cute outfits, tons of wipes and diapers and even a few camo pieces for hunting with his Daddy : )
Pop found him a passy with a mustache!

Last Thursday was Gram's birthday and we were thrilled that she shared it with us!  Of course, she said she wouldn't have missed the shower for the world!

Gram and Pop had the girls a little something to open too so they wouldn't feel left out beacuse you know they are SO deprived! : )

Besides getting Knox's room ready, we moved Khloe into Kinsey's room so we could still have play room for all of our toys.  The girls have been sharing a room for a few months now and it's really working out nicely.  Mom helped me get their names up above their beds while she was here and I'm so happy with the way they turned out!

I still need to get a few more things for Knox's pegboard above the changing table but other than that his room is all ready for him! After we got his bedding and curtians up, it took me a while to get used to walking by his room and seeing blue : ) It's still hard to believe that we're having a little boy!

I've got an appointment with the midwife tomorrow so we'll see if any of these contractions have made some progress!

Easter weekend 2013

We had a great Easter weekend. The girls really enjoyed their egg hunts this year and we enjoyed watching them!  Ryan's birthday was that Saturday, which was also opening day of turkey season., so he was excited to get back out in the woods with his dad and as you can see they had a great first day of the season! You just can't beat some fresh wild turkey! YUM!
It was also the beginning of Nana's spring break so she got here on Saturday and stayed for the week! of course no birthday would be complete without a cake made by Nana! (We couldn't fit all of the candles on his cake this year so we just opted for 1!)

The girls had 2 egg hunts...one at Kinsey's school and one at church. They both had fun but aren't very competitive when it comes to trying to find the most eggs. Khloe just looked for the Dora ones and would leave the others on the ground!

They were both so excited to find that the Easter bunny had come to visit them!  These pictures trip me out; their bed head and the expression on Khloe's face when Kinsey tells her the Easter bunny brought her new princess shoes! The ones she wore all the time finally broke and were thrown away recently so she was excited to have some new ones : )

And of course no Easter would be complete without a family picture, right?
Well, Khloe had different plans! Lets try one with our dresses up...
or while dancing!
Finally we got a decent one! And might I add how FINE my sweet husband is looking in his new suit : )
 I'm one lucky woman!!

A Year in Review

It's hard to believe almost a whole year has passed since I last blogged!  It's not that I've not wanted to but 2012 was a year full of transitions and changes for us so while I kept thinking I need to sit down and update the blog it just never was a priority. Here's the highlights of 2012 to get us caught up!  Hopefully I'll do a better job at keeping it up!

March 2012:
After 6+ long months on the market our first house sold.  While we were excited, we were a little sentimental packing up and leaving.  Our starter home was very good to us and lots of wonderful memories were made there but our family had doubled since we moved in back in 2006. It was time to move on to a place with a little more space so we could expand our family even more!
It's hard to believe how much the girls have grown in just 1 year!  They look so little here...

While we couldn't be more excited about selling our house, it was a little nerve racking because we still hadn't found a house to buy!  We had found one that was under construction that we loved but it already had a contract on it.  After looking at lots of houses, Ryan and I finally decided that we'd rather rent for a while and wait to have a house built than to just buy something for the sake of buying. We kept telling ourselves that moving twice would be worth it!   While we were in the middle of it all, I definitely had my doubts but now that we've been in our new place for close to 9 months now it was so worth the wait and all of the moves!

June 25,2012:
Moving Day! We feel so blessed to have such a beautiful home but more importantly to have the space to welcome others into our home for fellowship. My prayer is that we always use our home for God's glory!

August 2012:
We were thrilled to find out that we were expecting baby #3! We had our first ultrasound at 10 weeks on September 26th and everything looked great!  Baby Blount #3 due April 23,2013!

October 2012:  Kinsey turns 4!

We had a small Tangled party with family and just a few friends from church.  Pete and Nana were able to be here that weekend so Nana showed off her cake decorating skills and made a fabulous Rupunzel tower cake!

November 2012:
Khloe's 2nd Birthday
We got to spend Thanksgiving in GA with all of the Horne's so while we were there we celebrated Khloe turning 2 with a Minnie mouse party with the Horne & Guthrie crew!

Fall 2012:
Every fall around the girls birthdays I like to get their pictures taken professionally.  Mandy did a fabulous job capturing each of the girls' personalities. I just love my sweet girls!

December 2012:
We ended the year with more great news at my 20 week ultrasound.  Our April baby was a healthy little BOY!  Ryan was in shock for I think at least a week and even made me go to a local ultrasound place a few days after the first ultrasound to confirm that it was in fact a boy.  Nothing had changed and it was very clear we had a little guy on the way! It has taken a while to sink in that we are in for a whole new adventure with this pregnancy but we couldn't be more excited to meet our little man in less than 6 weeks!
So that's our year in a nut shell! Hopefully it won't be another year before I post again!
