All Grown Up!

This past weekend we headed west to help my little brother, Ashley, move to Jonesboro, AR. He's been in Houston for about a year and a half working for a medical device sales company and was offered a sales position at the end of last year in Jonesboro. Of course we were really excited because Jonesboro is a whole lot closer to us than Houston so hopefully we'll get to see more of each other! Although Ashley has technically been on his own for a while now it became real to me this weekend while we helped him get settled into his new townhouse! He's all grown up and not the bratty brother on some days I thought I might kill! I'm amazed that mom and dad didn't kill US the way we fought when we were little but it's funny how time changes things and how I wouldn't trade him for anything! (About 12 years ago that probably would have been a different story!haha) I love him and I'm so very proud of all he has accomplished with the talents God's blessed him with!

When we got there Thursday night he already had everything unpacked so Friday we helped him hang curtains and some pictures. It's amazing how hanging just a few things on the walls made the place look so much more homey! Terri came up and spent most of the day with us and it was so good to see her and get to catch up for a little while! Ryan and Ashley were hanging pictures and things on the wall so I jokingly told Ashley, "Just give me and Terri your credit card and we'll go get some more things to decorate the place!" Surprisingly, I guess he trusted us and handed over his card! We found a rug, curtain and few other things to tie everything together and didn't end of spending too much of his money! I took a few pictures while we were working but then forgot to take a picture after we were done...maybe Terri did. He has a really nice bachelor pad to be proud of!

Kinsey didn't want to cooperate and get her picture taken but I just thought it was too cute of Ashley! He got called in to go to a surgery as we were packing up to leave Saturday morning that's why he's in his scrubs. We had a great time even though it was a short trip! We love you, Ashley, and are so proud of you! Good luck with your new position...we know you'll do great!

Date Night and Spa Day

On Monday I met my wonderful in-laws about half way in between where we both live so make a Kinsey swap! They had offered to keep her overnight so I could have all of Tuesday for myself and get to use my gift certificate to the spa Ryan got me for my birthday! Since Ryan and I had the night to ourselves we decided to have a little date night! Ryan has been itching to see Avatar ever since it came out and while it definitely wasn't the top on my list of movies I wanted to see I'm so glad that I went! I really thought I was going to be bored out of my mind but I actually loved it! It was in 3D and neither of us had been to a 3D movie before so that was really neat! We got to wear the coolest glasses ever; when I put mine on and looked at Ryan he busted out laughing! As a matter of fact there was a recycling bin for the glasses but Ryan and I liked ours so much we kept them! : ) Anyway, if you haven't seen Avatar I would highly recommend it! We even talked about going to see it again so we'll see! After the movie we planned on going to get a bite to eat but it had started to snow again so we just called in a pizza, came home, and called it a night!

Us in our goofy glasses!

I was so excited about my 'Day at the Spa'. I've been looking forward to being able to relax and get pampered and it was just as wonderful as I thought it would be! In my lifetime I think I've had 1 massage and maybe 2 pedicures and those were gifts that someone had given me....I'm just not the type of person to spend that kind of money on myself so yesterday really was a treat! First I had my facial, I've never had one before so I wasn't really sure what to expect but it was wonderful and my dry, winter skin felt great after it was over! Next I had a yummy lunch, vegetable soup with a cornbread muffin, sweet tea and chocolate cake! Then I was treated to an hour long massage! Talk about much needed!!! It felt amazing; the whole time I was worried I was going to get so relaxed that I would fall asleep and start drooling : ) Don't worry I didn't! The last thing I received was a long overdue pedicure and foot massage! I think the last time I had a pedicure was for my wedding day 4 1/2 years ago! I was so worried the gal would take one look at my horrible feet and tell me I needed to go somewhere else but she didn't! She was very kind and my feet are nice and soft....now if I'll just keep them up! Just when I thought my day couldn't get any better, I got home from the spa there was a package on the doorstep for me...18 red roses from my sweet husband for Valentine's Day! What can I say...he's the BEST! He had them delivered early because we're going to Jonesboro to help Ashley move into his new place this weekend!
My beautiful roses

Because of the snow and ice that came through Monday night and yesterday, Gram and Grandpop decided to just keep Kinsey an extra night instead of getting out on the roads so it's been almost 2 whole days since I've seen my baby and I'm ready! I know she's had a blast with them and not missed us at all but we've missed her, especially her Daddy! The house was so quite last night I asked Ryan what we did before we had her? It's amazing how much little ones change your life! Thank you so much Steve and Patsy for keeping Kinsey and giving us some time to ourselves! We love you and appreciate all you do for us!

Did I mention we've had more snow!! I was a very pretty snow but needless to say I'm ready for spring!
